I loved my Salad Nicoise!

It seems every time we turn around 230 Forest restaurant in Laguna Beach California has earned another "Best" award ... and justifiably so.  Every time we have been there, everything has been really great. 

We discovered this Laguna Beach restaurant by accident.  I happened to ask a sales clerk at a nearby store for a recommendation for lunch, and her response was immediate, "Go to 230 Forest!"  We did.  We were pleased.  And we have been back several times.

Delightful, understated Laguna Beach art 

Laguna Beach is known for its art, all kinds of art.  The Laguna Beach art festivals that run all summer long are internationally known.

So I always enjoy seeing what kind of art each restaurant chooses to feature.  At 230 Forest it is modern-ish, unpretentious artwork.  It fits just perfectly.

The long narrow row of tables

I remember a small restaurant in Paris that was so narrow you could hardly walk through the two rows of tables.  That is what 230 Forest Avenue reminds me of.  It is long and narrow, and charmingly romantic.  A glass divider separates the inside section from the patio.

We sat on the patio and watched the cars of Laguna Beach in their daily parade -- fancy new ones, fun old ones, classics too.

The bar is along the right hand side.  Long about Happy Hour this part really perks up with happy travelers from near and far.  This is definitely a high spot for a lot of Laguna Beach travel.

Do join them.  You will fall in love too.

There is metered parking along Forest Avenue and adjacent streets.  Quarters only are accepted.  There is a change machine at the end of the street if you need quarters.
