From Darci, who lives nearby:
Oh, this is just so romantic. You have to tell everyone about it. Tea time at Pelican Hill!

We had gone up to Pelican Hill for lunch and were just walking around, enjoying the sunshine on a Saturday afternoon, and we heard the lovliest harp music coming from the main lobby area.
We wandered over and stumbled on Tea Time at the Pelican!
We didn't have reservations, so we couldn't get a whole tea setting, but our waiter Steve was so great. He found us some lovely tea sandwiches! I had some heavenly Jasmine tea, and Roddy had a beer (hey, he's just a guy).
And we sat and listened to the music, holding hands in a plush, cushiony sofa.
We are going back again. I want to plan it better so we can have champagne and some of their amazing little tea desserts. Maybe we will go in the afternoon, then stay around for dinner.
Note from Kingsley:

Darci, I do know what you mean! I took some of the little 'uns up to hear the heavenly music, and it was just that. Both Linda-Rose and Erica (the two harpists) are such lovely ladies. I wanted to bring them home, but Ken said No.
Jun, one of the little 'uns, got absolootely enchanted with the harp itself ... the finely polished woods, the exquisite craftsmanship, the colored threads sprinkled in.
Here is a picture that Jun took of the detail at the base of the harp. Isn't it lovely. I must confess, I do agree with her. It is hard to imagine a more heavenly instrument.
Linda-Rose and Erica work with Karla Ross. You can hear clips of their playing there, but it just doesn't compare to hearing it in person. I am absolutely in love with them both!
When we were there, they had Tea Time on Saturday and Sunday afternoon. Be sure to call ahead and verify the schedule, and do make reservations for the tea service.
Best,
