Like several La Jolla restaurants, Azul La Jolla sits on a cliff, with La Jolla caves and La Jolla Cove nestled below. Its formal name is "The Steakhouse at Azul", but locals still call it by its shorter name.

Along with other La Jolla restaurants along Prospect Street,
Azul Restaurant shares a
spectacular
view of La Jolla Cove. La Jolla caves are just
off to the right, with kayaks paddling all over.
And also like its neighbors, Azul La Jolla Restaurant wanders a bit, like it is settling itself comfortably on the cliff.

To find it on Prospect Street, look for the pale turquoise "Azul" sign, with a flight of stairs leading down. (There is an elevator available too.)
The warm adobe hues combine with shades of blue throughout the restaurant, creating a warm, ocean like environment.

The best tables in this La Jolla steakhouse are right here, alongside the tall floor to ceiling windows. Warm sunshine and sparkling oceans surround the whole room.
I really muffled it when we visited The Steakhouse at Azul. I just had the hungries for fish, so I ordered something fishy. It was good. But, after all, this is a steakhouse. For the house specialty, go with steak.
On our way out we stopped by the bar with its warm woods and stonework walls. It is quite a nice area. The seating area around the fireplace was very pleasant too and, I suspect, quite welcome on a cool evening.
