"Bella Vista" means "beautiful view", a reflection of the Mexican heritage of Santa Barbara.

Sometimes a place is named so perfectly that nothing more need be said. The Bella Vista at Santa Barbara Biltmore is just such a place.
Look at the awe-inspiring view of the Pacific Ocean.
Look at the canopy of stars.
Look at the intertwined trees that so perfectly frame the view.

The Four Seasons Biltmore Resort can only be applauded for so magnificently accenting the beauty of the natural surroundings.

Step into the Bella Vista and be greeted with a splash of natural sunlight and the quiet sounds of a romantic fountain accented with floating flowers.
At the far end is a lovely patio area overlooking Butterfly Beach. It is a stunning spot to enjoy a glass of wine while watching one of Santa Barbara's amazing sunsets.
Just to the left and to the right of this central area are large fireplaces that open both to the entryway (shown here) and to the ocean side.
Ask the hostess to seat you on the far side of the fireplace.
Here is the most romantic table in the entire restaurant.
Actually there are two of them, one by each fireplace.
This is where we dined the first time we visited. And it truly was romantic. On one side is a comfy fire; on the other is the blue Pacific. And over all is the night sky.
Sunday brunches at Bella Vista at Santa Barbara Biltmore are truly legendary, from the caviar station to prime rib and rack of lamb to dozens of exotic salad options. We fondly remember the brunch from years ago, and it has only gotten better over time.
The dinner at Bella Vista Restaurant at the Biltmore was really wonderful. We were there on a Sunday evening, just to time to enjoy the family style Sunday evening dinners. These are lighter dinners than usual, with an emphasis on fresh seafood and lighter cuts of meat. We opted to order from the regular menu, with seafood as our choice. The capellini pasta and Maine lobster entrees that we had were absolutely outstanding. Truthfully, everything on the menu sounded outstanding.

Before we left for home the next morning, we got a bite of breakfast at the Bella Vista, in one of the many quiet corners. The OJ was fresh; the coffee was aromatic and wonderful.
And the blue Pacific and golden sunlight kept us company.
All in all, a lovely, romantic spot for dining.
