It is hard to imagine a lovelier, nicer group of people to meet on a picnic. Yes, you can be alone if you want to. But if you prefer a bit of conversation with super folk, this is where you want to be. And that is truly why this is the best of Laguna Beach.
There is just so much to do at Heisler Park.
Picnics, of course. If you would like to pick up some goodies, stop by Pavilions grocery store or Jean Paul's Goodies, both on the corner of Coast Highway and Boat Canyon Road. (Boat Canyon Road is about two blocks north of Heisler Park.)
Beaching. The beaches are lovely, and uncrowded. Swimming is good. Kayaks bob through this area too, as do all manner of surf boards.
Tide pool exploring. The park even has a cute sign explaining the various sea life you will discover in the tide pools.
Strolling. The meandering pathway is so lovely. Say hello to folks you pass, just as if you belonged there.
And as the day is ending, cuddle up and watch the sunset. Or sip a beverage and watch the stars come out.
Life doesn't get much better than this. It is the best of Laguna Beach.
Finding Heisler Park
Heisler Park is located behind Las Brisas Restaurant, along Cliff Drive. There is metered street parking, which takes only quarters. If you are short on quarters, there is a machine that will make change. Because parking is so limited, the park is rarely crowded, but do come early. Weekdays are the best time, but early Saturday and Sunday are great too.
