Sally Sue from Laguna Beach, California, shared her favorite romantic weekend getaway: a lovely brunch spot overlooking the gentle Pacific Ocean.

Dana Point is a very romantic little town, if only because of its
street names: Avenue of the Blue Lantern, Green Lantern Way, etc.
Back a hundred years or so, I understand that these streets really
did have lanterns of these colors. It must have been quite exotic.
On the Blue Lantern Street is a great little cafe that sits
right at the edge of the cliff, overlooking Dana Point Harbor. We go
there every so often for Sunday brunch.

On sunny days there are dozens of boats going in and out the
harbor and you can see forever. We like to sit outside on the balcony.
The brunch
itself is nice too, with lots of seafood, a cutting chef, salads,
desserts, beverages -- one of the nicest we have been to. Be sure to
make reservations. It isn't a big place, so you want to be sure
there is room.
Dana Point is foremost a charming resort town filled with B&B, elegant little restaurants, boat touring and fishing, little walkways to meander, with unexpected little shops popping up all over. There are so many wonderful dining places that it is hard to go wrong -- just head out in a direction and you will discover one. Or, if you prefer, ask your concierge and he will point you in the right direction.
In any event, do enjoy your romantic brunch in Dana Point,
California. We surely did.
Note from Kingsley:
Thanks ever so, Sally Sue. We have indeed wandered the little byways of Dana Point, and we find it every bit as lovely as you describe!
