The Hansel and Gretl Cottage in Carmel, a Very Romantic California Bed and Breakfast Inn

I have wanted to stay in this cottage since I learned about it years ago from my friend Julie who stayed there on her honeymoon. It is just so cute. We had tried many times to book it, but it was always booked up. Finally we got our chance and we snuck in for a whole week.

Oh my, what a wonderful week. The cottage was everything that I had dreamed. Quaint. Cute. Romantic, yes. Private.

It is actually part of the Lamplighter Inn in Carmel, right near the Carmel beach. I love the Carmel/Monterey area. It is so un-commercial, with fresh air and ocean breezes. And the restaurants, ohmygoodness, the restaurants. We ate and ate and ate and never ran out of new places to try.

If you go, be sure to go down to the Monterey Fishermans Wharf, which is where you will find about a dozen great fish restaurants. And they are in every nook and cranny of Carmel.

The charming little shops are everywhere too. My husband got to go golfing, I don't know the name of the course, but he loved it. It was one of those courses that sit right on the ocean. The whole experience with this romantic California bed and breakfast was just so wonderful.
