.
There are so many Laguna Beach activities, it is hard to know where to begin. You might plan your Laguna Beach travel around one event, such as the art festival in the summer. But no matter when you come, there is lots to do.

This is the main beach in Laguna Beach. It sits at the foot of Forest Avenue, right near down town Laguna Beach, and easily accessible to all. It truly deserves its "park" title because one of the big surprises here are all the beautiful flowers you will discover. In one lazy afternoon I started taking snapshots of the flowers in Laguna Beach Park and ended up with over 50 photos. Coming here ranks high on the list of Laguna Beach activities.

One of the other big surprises is the artwork that sneaks up on you. Here is a charming, colorful mosaic made of ceramic. It is hidden in a glump of greenery.
Laguna Beach does that a lot. The artwork that is scattered around the village is so lovely, and mostly unexpected.
The beach itself is beautiful, with high cliffs on both sides, covered in blues and yellows and greens. This is a popular spot for beach volleyball and for sunning. There is a great walkway around the edge of the beach too, just right for those who don't want to wiggle their toes in the sand.
Each summer is the incredible Laguna Beach Festival of the Arts and the Sawdust Art Festival.
There are also a couple of dozen beaches along the Laguna Beach coastline. Down below Heisler Park there are (from north to south):
Crescent Bay. A large cove at the end of Cliff Drive. Seal Rock is at the edge of this bay.
Shaw's Cove. At the base of Fairview Street. Secluded.
Boat Canyon. Access via a stairway beside the Diver's Cove condos. A hidden treasure
Diver's Cove. Adjacent to Picnic Beach
Picnic Beach. Great for tide pools and scuba diving.
Rockpile Beach. This is a cove at the south end of Heisler Park. Great for tide pool exploring, and might even get close to Bird Rock, a bird sanctuary, for great photos.
Then there is the main Laguna Beach area and Sleepy Hollow. South of that are (again from north to south):
Cleo St. Beach. Close to downtown. An old boat wreck sits offshore, making this great for scuba divers.
St. Ann's Beach. Surfing heaven. Board surfing, body suring.
Thalia Beach. Surfers only. No swimming.
Oak Street Beach. Nice observation deck. Popular with locals for surfing.
Brooks Street Beach. Board surfing only. Strong undertow.
Cross Street Beach. Near dining and shopping, but not for swimming. Strong rip tides.
Mountain Road Beach. Body surfing and fishing are popular here.
Bluebird Beach. Adjacent to Surf and Sand Hotel. Popular with body surfers.
Agate St. Beach. Access via stairway at end of Agate Street.
Pearl Beach. Rocky area not good for swimming or surfing. But the blow hole is a great adventure!
Wood's Cove. Tide pools, fishing, body surfing. Popular with locals.
Moss Point. Small beach mostly for scuba divers and skin diving.
Victoria Beach. Near Casa Laguna Hotel. Picturesque with its spiral stairway in an early Victorian lighthouse turret. Popular for photos.
Christmas Cove. Near Montage Resort. Ramp access.
Goff Cove. Near Montage Resort. Stairway access.
Treasure Island Beach. Near Montage Resort. Access via ramp. Here is a pictures of Treasure Island Beach, and one visitor's tale.
Aliso Beach. Parking lots, facilities and playgrounds.
1000 Steps Beach. The beach is lovely, if hard to find. And the 200+ steps just feel like 1000 steps on the way back up.
There are dozens and dozens of Laguna Beach activities going on all year round, from concerts to art shows to marathons to community gatherings to kayaking and whale watching. There are local free newspapers on every corner to let you know what is going on when you are there, and read what other travelers have discovered in Laguna Beach!
