There are some picnic foods and ideas that just seem to evoke romance. A few of those are:
Artichokes. The heart shape is a natural for romance, and this veggie is lots of fun to eat because you can both eat from the same artichoke, or even feed each other leaves!
Strawberries. The red heart shape makes this a natural romantic picnic food idea. Use it in champagne, in desserts, or just by itself dipped in whipped cream. It is also a great addition to a fruit salad.
Avocados. I think it is probably because an avocado is just so darn healthy that it is considered a romantic food. After all, what is better than keeping your sweetie happy and healthy?
Oysters. Noted here because oysters are considered THE romantic food. But don't try taking them on a picnic. The sun and warmth could do terrible things to you and to the oyster.
Wine. Red wine, white wine, champagne, and everything in between. A picnic is just so much more special with a glass of wine.
"A book of verses underneath the bough, a jug of wine, a loaf of bread ... and thou." from The Rubaiyat of Omar Khayyam, 1859.
That formula for a perfect picnic still hold true.
Salmon. Salmon salads and salmon sandwiches are as much a romantic picnic staple as chicken, and just as healthy.
The most romantic picnic food ideas are those that you and your honey enjoy most. Heck, if you really enjoy peanut butter sandwiches, then that would indeed be YOUR most romantic picnic. Don't plan your picnic based on what someone else enjoys; plan your picnic based on what you enjoy.

Speaking of avocados for romantic picnic food ideas, here's a great guacamole recipe just for you:
Rendezvous Guacamole
A great munchie with tortilla chips. It is a tad on the spicy side, so you might want to calm it down a bit.
You will need:
Peel the avocadoes, and take out the seeds. Put it into a small bowl. Squeeze the juice out of the limes into the same bowl. Chop the tomato, the onion, the cilantro and the chili. Mince the garlic.
Add everything listed to the same bowl, mashing it so that it is still a little bumpy. Fix it just before you leave on the picnic, not the night before. Or you could have everything ready in a covered bowl, and just peel and mash the avocado when you are ready for your picnic.
