A Picnic Adventure
Seaport Village San Diego -- lots of adventures rolled into one, and picnics is really one of them. When heading to Seaport Village in San Diego for a picnic, keep in mind that there are wonderful fun things to do along the San Diego marina park. The park is located near some of the best hotels in San Diego, right near the Convention Center hotels, at the center of Seaport Village.
A Picnic In the Seaport Village/ San Diego Marina Area
Kingsley, our wandering lion, was determined to sit down and enjoy his picnic in the San Diego Marina park. So he bounded off, and settled comfortably onto "his table", the Poppy Table.
This is one of the picnic tables in the Seaport Village Marina Park (formally, "Embarcadero Park") that has been colorfully decorated. Kingsley especially liked this one because it has the California poppy adorning it, and that is California's official flower. (Kingsley cavorts in poppy fields every spring, so he felt quite at home.)

This table was designed by Maria Botta. It said so, right there on the corner. This pleased Kingsley, like he was introduced to the artist herself. Kingsley knew she is a very happy lady because the table is very happy.
With the graciousness of a good host, Kingsley invited his chauffeur and chaperon, Ken, to join him for a fine glass of wine. And together they savored the cool ocean breezes and warm spirits.
That flying fish that you see behind them is one of the fun sculptures you will see as you wander through the Seaport Village San Diego marina park.
Hiding behind them in the bushes are some fishermen, testing the San Diego Bay waters.
When Kingsley finished his picnic, he went and chased some kites. Honest. With all the hotels near downtown and the marina, San Diego vacation folk come here to play. Join them. This really is one of the fun things to do in San Diego.
