Seaport Village Carriage Ride in San Diego
Cherise reminded us about the thoroughly romantic carriage rides in Seaport Village San Diego. Here is what she wrote:
This is the carriage we took.
Isn't it lovely!
We took the most romantic carriage ride in San Diego. It started at Seaport Village, right by the Harbor House Restaurant. In fact, we stopped at Harbor House after the ride and had a glass of champagne watching the sun set.
The carriage is so lovely, festooned with flowers and ribbons, and the driver is so nice.
It was a slow, romantic ride through the Gas Lamp District where all the jazz players and night life happen in San Diego. I had no idea everything in that area was so compact, and so walkable even. The carriage driver pointed out interesting places and snippets of history.
We went at twilight, just as the lights were starting to come on. That is a perfect time! I just loved it. I felt like a starry eyed kid on a first date!
Here is another picture of a different Seaport Village horse carriage that we saw parked in the same place a different day. It looks like the pumpkin carriage in Cinderella!
I didn't ask but I imagine that these carriages are used a lot at weddings in the Seaport Village area. There are so many lovely, lovely spots for a wedding, and this would really be the cherry on top!

Soaring Kites! Kite Flying. Speaking of kites, there are some beautiful ones flying around. Bright colors sprinkle the sky over Embarcadero Park at Seaport Village, right there in the San Diego Harbor area. What a lovely way to spend a California vacation. |
