Our visitors tell us about the Ritz Restaurant too. Here's one about the Garden at the Ritz:

I know your review mentions the garden area at the Ritz, but it is really our favorite area.
A sunny day, flowers all around, a perfect setting. Nothing is too crowded or too rushed. It is really quite nice.
This is where they have the summer jazz series too. There is a big barbeque and music all through happy hour and into the evening.
I really enjoy the Guy Buffet plates too. They have some on the tables in the bar area, but they are a different series. The series in the Garden are like the picture. It is just so cheerful, so friendly, so like the Ritz itself.
Love,
Sandy
Gayle from St. Louis wondered about Christmas Eve at the Ritz:
My sister told me about a fabulous Christmas Eve that she and her family spent at The Ritz. I tried to get reservations last year, but they were booked. Is it really so great?
Note from Kingsley:
Gayle, I have got to tell you that Christmas Eve at the Ritz is just spectacular!! There is every holiday delicacy on the menu that you can imagine, including a Christmas Goose. It is a prix fixe dinner with more courses than any normal lion can eat, but be sure to save room for dessert. Last year it began with a seafood cocktail with shrimps and crabs and lobsters, and ended with a trio of desserts each one more scrumptious than the other. With soups and salads and main courses and wine and all that you could dream of in between.
And the Ritz is so beautiful at Christmas. The rich dark woods evoke feelings of Dicken's Christmas, with sparkling lights everywhere.
There are more people than could possibly fit into the Ritz. This is truly a Newport Beach tradition, and no matter how early they start or how long they serve, they just can't squeeze everyone in. Two years ago even I couldn't get in. So make your reservations early, at least by the first of December.
I hope to see you there. Don't worry if you don't recognize me. Everyone wishes everyone a joyous holiday, whether they know you or not. And do wear something festive. Sparkly stuff is all over.
Happy Christmas Eve at the Ritz!
Then Nordie's came to town! From Judi in Irvine, California
I am so excited. Fashion Island opened Nordstrom's, and it is right across the street from The Ritz.
I can see it now ... a lovely morning of shopping in my favorite store, and a cozy lunch with my sweetie at The Ritz.
Also, right next to Nordie's is a big parking garage, in case anyone wants to avoid the valet parking at The Ritz. With a stop light there to get a across, it would be a short three minute walk. It was so considerate of Nordie's to build a store right there, just for me!
Note from Kingsley:
Oh, yes indeedy, I did notice this. Fashion Island has undergone a massive remodeling, no doubt due in large part to Nordie's influence, and everything looks just splendid. I love traipsing from fountain to fountain, and skipping in a few shops along the way.
There is a small cafe in Nordie's, and several others throughout Fashion Island, but nothing can compare to The Ritz.
Hugs,
